Communication

The goal of the ‚ÄėCommunication‚Äô module is to help young people understand the importance of Communicaion in their everyday life and in their entrepreneurial path. Understanding how to properly communicate can help them in the discovery of their talents; it can enable young people to develop more self-awareness regarding them and the world and to create their own communication strategy.

The ENTREPVET Entrepreneurial journey is designed to build their employability skills and in particular in this module, their communication skills. The model also links to employability skills and EntreComp competences. Throughout the module, young people are encouraged and supported to document their thoughts and to share their views with others, without fear of ‚Äėgetting it wrong‚Äô.
This module is interactive and uses different tools to enable full participation and engagement – videos, discussions, worksheets, role play and session plans. 

This module has been designed so that it can be delivered with the help of a trainer.

 What are the learning outcomes?

At the end of this module,

  • The learner will understand the importance of communication skills in their everyday life and in the development of entrepreneurial abilities
  • The learner will recognize the different types of communication (f.e. verbal, non verbal, informal etc) and understand when it is proper to use each
  • The learner will learn how to be equipped with the most useful, crucial, and essential communication skills can cause them to be successful in their work, their businnes life, also to help them to be employed
  • The learner will be able to identify their own communication strategy
  • The learner will know the existence of specific communication tools
  • The learner will be curious towards new possibilities related to entrepreneurship
  • The learner will be motivated to further explore who they are as a person and as an entrepreneur

Lesson Plan #1: Empathy and active listening 

Aim of the lesson plan:

To support young people in developing or improving their active listening skills, but also empathy and expression of their emotions

Learning Outcomes:

The young people will learn about the importance of empathy and active listening in the process of efficient communication.

Length:

3 activities = 1 hour and 15 minutes

 Lesson Plan #2 : Public speaking and body language through storytelling

Aim of the lesson plan:

To support people in developing their communication skills in terms of public speaking, body language and storytelling. Young people will practice storytelling, acting a role, improvising, practicing storytelling, acting a role, improvising, using their presentation skills. They will be using and developing skills such as imagination, focus, language skills, listening, etc.

Learning Outcomes:

Young people will learn the importance of presentation skills and body language when acting as promoters for their own business.

Length:

3 activities = 180/240  minutes 

 Lesson Plan #3 : Teamwork and roles in a team

Aim of the lesson plan:

To help young people to understand the importance of team-work and the roles that appear when a team is created, by facilitating the group activities that involve developing creative and purposeful ideas, and using the young people’s vision and imagination by creating scenarios. The participants will work together and cooperate to develop ideas.

Learning Outcomes:

Young people will learn to work together, share their ideas and communicate with others.

Length:

3 activities = 180 minutes
